The Toilet of Venus, still life I
October 28, 2018

65*90 cm, oil on canvas
There is a plot in a classic oil painting with a young woman, looking into the mirror. It is called 'The Toilet of Venus'. This is my contemporary version of a famous story. Working on this painting I continue the series, devoted to Mars and Venus.
The reflection of an eye of a young woman (me) is seen in a small mirror near the crane. The perfume, the brush, and the eyeshadows and the nail polish American Apparel — that's what makes a young woman a contemporary Venus now.
