Mars on a purple sheet

I continue the series of paintings ‘The Life of Mars & Venus’, the plot is taken from the classic paintings, where Venus is sleeping on the red sofa — symbol of passion and sexuality. Here i was much inspired by Munch's and Marlen Dumas's works. I used cadmium purple combined with pink – these colors are associated with eroticism and seduction. The series of my Marses was started in March 2015, a month, which was named after this God.
