Chilly Gonzales, a portrait from Hungarian series
March 4, 2017
oil, canvas, 65*90 cm
Chilly Gonzales is a composer and piano musician, and this portrait is the first work in a series, devoted to ethnic Hungarians, whom I liked before the immigration to Hungary.
I used to love Chilly's music for more then 10 years, but only living in a Budapest apartment and listening to his Austrian concert, I've found out that he had had the Hungarian roots. His authentic style, beautiful melody, arrogant eyes and fantastic skill of improvisation reminds me German expressionistic paintings. By the way, Chilly works from a german capital, Berlin, and this is also a nice coincidence.
