A-Abstraction-Architecture
1st Kunstfuck Art Residency's exhibition on Budapest Architechtonics.
March 8, 2020

The termin 'Painterly Architectonics' was taken from Lyubov Popova who reduced her depiction of the city to squares and rectangles. She saw abstract, 'constructive' art as a metaphor for construction of the city. That’s the similar way the participants of the exhibition, the students whom I've been curating from the first sketch, are catching the rythm and the mood of Budapest, suggest movement but also a sense of balance in their works.
Overlapping rectangles of firewalls, numerous triangles of the roofs, subtle or intense gradients of walls, art-deco curves and pure Bauhaus cubes — this exhibition presents a multilayered overview on Budapest in the eyes of 13 artists from Hungary, Russia, Slovakia, Brasil, Greece and the USA. All of them are the graduates of my educational art project Kunstfuck Art Residency.
The exhibition took place in Unka space, Budapest 8–17.11.2019. There were the music set by a musician Alexey Zelensky feat. Zoltán Kováts dedicated to Laszlo Moholy-Nagy — the famous Hungarian designer and the deal of Bauhaus school.
